SCP Presents Footloose -

One of the most explosive movie musicals in recent memory bursts onto the Delavan stage in Seneca Falls this summer, when Seneca Community Players presents Footloose: The Musical.

When Ren and his mother move from Chicago to a small farming town, Ren is prepared for the inevitable adjustment period at his new high school. What he isn’t prepared for are the rigorous local laws, including a ban on dancing. The ban is the brainchild of a preacher determined to exercise the control over the town youth that he cannot command in his own home. When the reverend’s rebellious daughter sets her cap for Ren, her roughneck boyfriend tries to sabotage Ren’s reputation, with many of the locals eager to believe the worst about the new kid.

To the rockin’ rhythm of its Oscar-nominated top 40 score (the soundtrack album reached number one on the Billboard charts and has sold over 15 million copies!) to which new, dynamic songs have been added, Footloose celebrates the wisdom of listening to young people, guiding them with a warm heart and an open mind.  Directed by Award-winning Pam Rapoza with musical direction by Annie Bachman, Footloose promises to be another toe-tappin’ SCP summer hit.

The all-star cast is lead by award winners Randy Hample as Ren, Laura Feligno as Ariel Moore, Pat Fegley as Reverend Shaw Moore, and RJ Rapoza as Willard Hewitt.   They are joined by Jane Catanise as Ethel McCormack, Debbie Roper as Vi Moore, Emily Swenson as Rusty, Tricia Burnett-Mooneyhan as Urleen, Megan Craver as Wendy Jo, Jeb Albro as Chuck Cranston, and Debbie Swenson as Principal Clark.

Additional cast members in order of appearance are: Melinda Rosini as Lulu Warnicker; Mike Stein as Wes Warnicker; Kevin Schoonover as Coach Roger Dunbar; Robin Cambareri as Eleanor Dunbar; Dewey Fleszar as Lyle; Aaron Isaacs as Travis; Karl Nies as Cop / Cowboy Bob; Dorothy Thompson as Betty Blast; Robert Stobie as Jeter; Randy Homack as Bickle; Peter Kopp as Garvin, Annie Bachman as Irene, and Sherrie Smith as Mama.  The Teen Chorus is made up of actors Margaret Griffin, Amy Simolo, Kelly Witter, Mariah Ernhout, Fran Acker, and Sarah Snyder.

Produced locally by Jennifer Mitchell, the staff and crew consist of Annie Bachman as Music Director, Erin Mangan as Stage Manager, Kristin Lanphear as Assistant Stage Manager and Costume Manager, R.J. Rapoza as Technical Director, Aerin Lanphear for Props & Costumes, Margaret Griffin as Assistant Choreographer, Randy Hample as Dance Captain, Chris Moulton as Publicity, and Ross Gifford as Lighting Designer.
